Description: This session is targeted to those who are new to ABMS and board certification. It will paint a broad overview of board certification and help you understand the “big picture.” The session will offer an understanding of certification from multiple perspectives including physicians, hospitals, and the public. You’ll learn the history, value, and importance of the credential along with the key components of a certification program. From public trust to program requirements, research to primary source verification, and standards to subspecialties, you will expand your knowledge and understanding of the fundementals of certification, as well as the important role the ABMS plays in health care.
